I’m Autumn Hutton — a certified birth and parenthood photographer based in New Orleans, and a quiet witness to some of life’s most wondrous moments.

I bring a calm, grounded energy into your space; always respectful, never intrusive. My goal is to quietly document without interfering, to honor your birth story without shaping it.

Whether I’m capturing the curves of your growing belly, your baby's first cry, the softness of your baby wrapped in your arms, or creating art out of your every day, I aim to create photographs that feel honest and deeply human.

My approach is documentary, baby-led, and rooted in trust.

Why birth?

New Orleans Birth Photographer Autumn Hutton gives birth to second baby boy at home in Marrero Louisiana.

Because I’ve been there.

With my first I experienced 17 hours of back-to-back contractions that shook me to my core. Post-birth my memories of it are scarce; it feels like I blacked out for most of it...and I only have one terrible iPhone photograph my husband shot moments after he was born.

Becoming a mother changed the way I saw everything, including photography. I began documenting births not just because I truly believe they are beautiful images, but because I know how quickly the details fade. And how profoundly it matters to remember.

I'm proud to be a certified member of Birth Becomes You, and accredited with the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers. I was Nola Magazine's runner up for Best Family Photographer in 2025, and named a Top 20 Birth Photographer of 2024 by Birth Photographers of the Year, winning a few different awards from my images. I've been published in Everyday Birth magazine, and continue to further my education in photography, videography, and in birth.

I serve families across Greater New Orleans, including Metairie, Mandeville, the west bank, and surrounding parishes up to an hour and a half away.
